today a competitor. I didn’t do it. It wasn’t me. I merely asked Paul if he would like to start a blog at the same time as me, a sketch-a-day blog, to encourage each other to draw daily.
So what did the bastard do? Turned it into a competition. This brings back memories from Sophomore year Algebra when drawing the posters hanging on the walls of the room seemed like (and was) a better idea than learning math. I received my only “D” ever that year and the GRE-prepping Kim is cursing the sophomore year Paul and his dirty ideas.
Paul taught me several things in life. Plushies are fucking cute, accept it. Its ok to be a jackass as long as people find you funny. Cooking is a joy; washing dishes is hell. And lastly, winning is the only thing that matters in life. This explains the time he made a class of 2nd graders cry after beating them all in hopscotch, called them inferior short-legged beings and the scum of society and laughed for 5 minutes when one boy peed his paints out of fear. But, he won. That’s all that matters.
Thus! I am sketching now. Not to improve my skills or try new techniques, but to win. And I will. I will win. Screw you post-friend Paul! (kisses!)
